Winners of the 2017 Hudson’s Heritage Awards Revealed

Durham Cathedral, Eltham Palace and Hedingham Castle have all been named winners in the 2017 Hudson’s Heritage Awards.

Stonehenge won the special award for heritage achievement, while Plumpton Rocks in North Yorkshire was named best hidden gem.

The winners were announced in the ceremony, which recognises the best heritage attractions in the UK and included:

Best Eating Out

•  Sherborne Castle, Dorset

The Best Shopping

•  Holkham Hall, Norfolk.

Best Accommodation

•  Combermere Abbey, Shropshire

Best Loos

•  Hedingham Castle, Essex

The Hunters Award for Best New Discovery (Sponsored by Hunters Solicitors)

•  Eltham Palace (English Heritage), London

The Savills Award for Best Innovation (Sponsored by Savills)

•  Durham Cathedral, County Durham

Best Event/Exhibition

•  Berrington Hall (National Trust), Herefordshire
