I would like to say a big thank you to routeone for their support by helping with promoting myself regarding my challenge sponsorship.
The challenge was for 10 non-dancers to be paired with 10 professional dancers to learn two different styles of dance over four months.
On 18 March the 10 dance couples put on a show in true ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ style.
My two dances were the American Smooth and the Cha Cha. The panel of judges were tough but fair, as they themselves were all professional dance examiners.
Surrounded by a lot of dedicated and hardworking wannabe dancers, I had no idea that I was to be the winner.
The event raised a massive £21,000 for St Luke’s Hospice Basildon, which will help fund greatly needed end of life care.
I am writing this on the Monday after, still buzzing from the whole experience. Although I am a bit sad that the months of training with my teacher Leighanne Phillips is over, I am pleased that we have been asked to open next year’s event with our winning dance.
Once again I would like to thank all who supported and sponsored me.
