The next Young Bus Professionals conference will be held in Cambridge on 12 and 13 September, with a keynote address from Stagecoach CEO Claire Miles headlining the programme.
Ms Miles is among what the organisers describe as a diverse selection of speakers from operators and suppliers. Other include Stephensons of Essex Managing Director and ALBUM Chair Bill Hiron, who will deliver the after-dinner speech on the first day of the conference.
The conference will be hosted at the Novotel Cambridge North, adjacent to Cambridge North railway station, and it will commence on 12 September with an optional afternoon visit to the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway.
Other confirmed speakers are McGill’s Bus Group Health, Safety and Technical Manager Nathan Burge and Ensignbus Operations Manager Ryan Scott. They will share with delegates their own experiences as young managers in the bus industry.
The agenda will be concluded by Ascendal Group Managing Director, UK, Jonathan Ziebart. From the supply side of the sector, Ticketer CEO Kelly Hanna and Equipmake Head of Technical Sales Oli Knights will address the conference.
Speaking about the programme, Young Bus Professionals Co-Patron Alex Hornby says: “It is only thanks to the kind support of industry leaders that we can put together another fascinating agenda at our autumn conference.
“We look forward to gathering together young bus managers from our great industry once again for two days of networking and best practice sharing.”
The cost of the conference is subsidised via the support of the Chris Moyes Sponsorship Fund. Early bird discounts are available until 11 August, with bookings now open via the Young Bus Professionals website.
Young Bus Professionals was formed out of the established Young Bus Managers Network earlier in 2024. That change intends to better reflect the sector’s evolving landscape, with a hope of encouraging more members from public sector bodies and consultancies.
