‘We will do our best to keep fares as low as possible’, says GM Ian Combellack

Nottingham Community Transport has stepped in to save two local bus services from being axed due to budget cuts.

Nottingham Community Transport’s trading arm CT4N will run the city council’s Locallink services L22 and L23, which link Silverdale, Clifton, Ruddington and West Bridgford. They were due to end on 1 June.

The services will be renamed the 22 and 23, and will operate to the existing route and timetable. CT4N will run them from Monday 29 April, and will introduce fares.

Ian Combellack, General Manager of Nottingham Community Transport, says: “Keeping communities connected – especially but not only the vulnerable and mobility-impaired – is exactly why Community Transport exists and why CT4N has taken the decision to take over the operation of both services.

“We look forward to working with Nottinghamshire County Council, who have been very supportive of our proposals to continue the running of L22/L23, to keep these precious and well-used routes alive for Nottingham.

“We will do our best to keep fares as low as possible and any changes in operation unnoticeable – we are just thrilled that the services won’t be cut and hope passengers across Nottingham are too.”
