First Bus has rolled out long-lasting surface sanitising treatment Zoono Z71 across its operational fleet to protect against coronavirus COVID-19.

Zoono Z71 is a viricidal sanitiser that is effective for 28 days. As an environmentally friendly, alcohol-free ‘invisible shield’ that attracts and kills organisms, it is scientifically proven to be highly effective against the virus.

Buses and depots will be treated every 28 days. Use of the product is in addition to the daily disinfection of all driver and customer touchpoints on First’s buses.

The group also recently introduced reduced vehicle capacities and it has updated its app to allow the number of free seats to be monitored by users ahead of the bus’s arrival at their stop.

Says Managing Director Giles Fearnley: “We are determined to do all we can to protect our customers and colleagues. Our buses are essential to those who need to travel. We want everyone to understand that it is safe to use them.”

Zoono Z71 bonds to surfaces and provides protection even after regular washing or cleaning. It attracts and kills organisms mechanically.
