Administrators have reported “a healthy level of interest” in both the business and the assets of Poole operator Sea View Coaches, which ceased trading earlier in April.
The Dorset operator entered administration following “steadily declining turnover in an increasingly competitive market.”
Rising running costs also contributed to the pressure on the operation.
Simon Haskew and Neil Vinnicombe, partners at Begbies Traynor, are joint administrators. The Dorset premises are set to be sold at auction in mid-June and some of its vehicles have already been advertised by dealers.
The operator was established in 1973 and ran an 18-strong fleet. All 17 members of staff have been made redundant.
Says Mr Vinnicombe: “Looking to the future, the Sea View Coaches brand is well known locally and would prove a valuable asset for someone to take forward.”
