Johnsons Coach and Bus Travel put a Yutong E10 battery-electric demonstrator through its paces on the roads of Warwickshire recently, giving potential customers the chance to test the vehicle as the operator looks towards the possibility of zero emissions in the future.
The bus was on demonstration from Yutong’s UK distributor Pelican Bus and Coach and it garnered a positive response. “Passengers and drivers alike immediately recognised the benefits an electric vehicle offers,” says John Johnson, Commercial Director of Johnsons.
“Based on the trial, it appears the cost of electricity to operate the bus is less than a quarter of the equivalent cost of running a diesel.”
