Parnham Coaches shuts after contract loss

The loss of schools contracts, worth £900,000 over two years, has led to Ludgershall, Wiltshire-based family firm Parnham Coaches to close, after 45 years.

It holds an O-Licence for 25 vehicles, but had latterly halved its fleet due to the contract losses.

The firm suffered an incident in 2016 involving a driver using a hidden camera on a coach to film children inappropriately. As a result, Hampshire and Wiltshire Councils withdrew schools contracts, and told private schools not to use the firm. Since then, the loss of business has made the business untenable. It is being voluntarily liquidated and is selling its depot for housing.
