Tees Valley Flex minibus DRT pilot launches

The demand-responsive Tees Valley Flex minibus pilot launched last week in Hartlepool. It is operated by Stagecoach using nine low-floor Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, including seven new examples with EVM Cityline conversions.

Funding for the Tees Valley Flex service has come from the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority. The pilot will run for three years in three zones: Darlington and Stockton; Hartlepool; and Redcar and Cleveland. If successful, it may be extended across the region.

Bookings are taken via an app, a website or over the phone. Pick-ups and drop-offs are made within the serviced area, along with destinations such as rail stations hospitals outside of
