Alexander Dennis has announced it will supply nine new Enviro200 single-deck buses to Sussex-based operator Compass Travel.
Four 10.8m-long 40-seaters have already been completed and will soon be added to the more than 65 Alexander Dennis buses in the fleet. A further five, which will be 8.9m in length and seat 30, have been ordered for delivery in the autumn.
Compass Travel, a member of the Association of Local Bus Company Managers, operates services in West Sussex, East Sussex, Brighton and Surrey.
The new Enviro200s are low-emissions buses with Euro VI engines and Alexander Dennis’s SmartPack efficiency technology.
Compass Travel Managing Director Chris Chatfield says: “The Enviro200 makes up most of our bus fleet and has proved itself to be an extremely reliable performer that helps us keep our operating costs down with its excellent fuel economy.
“Combined with the first-rate aftermarket support we enjoy through AD24, it has therefore been an easy choice to return to Alexander Dennis for this year’s new buses and we’re looking at a potential order for five more for the first quarter of next year.”
Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Mark Taylor adds: “Compass Travel is a great success story in the South of England, consistently growing its network and offering customers an excellent experience thanks to a well-maintained fleet. I’m delighted that our Enviro200 will continue to underpin this and I look forward to handing over this year’s vehicles to Chris and his team.”
