Passengers voted for Allestree bus driver Mick Smith, to receive the customer choice award at Trent Barton’s really good service awards.
Mick, who joined Trent Barton in 2003, received more than 250 nominations from customers.
He even arranges flowers and cards for when his regulars have been ill.
As Mick did not attend the ceremony a surprise presentation at a bus stop on his route in Allestree was organised.
People turned up with party hats, balloons and gifts for him – he got a massive shock when he pulled up.
