Stagecoach East has revamped its depot management teams with appointments at Bedford, Cambridge and Peterborough.
Martin Marsh (pictured, below) has taken up the position of Operations Manager at Cambridge. He was formerly Operations Manager at Bedford, and prior to that, Interim Operations Manager at each of Cambridge and Peterborough.
“Taking on the role of Operations Manager in a busy and exciting city like Cambridge is a wonderful opportunity to serve our local community,” says Mr Marsh.
“Cambridge is such a vibrant place, full of inspiring and forward-looking people, so we are working very hard to provide a local bus network that will meet its needs through all the challenges of congestion.”
Meanwhile, Hema Russell (pictured, below) has joined the business as Operations Manager for Peterborough depot. Ms Russell has 15 years of experience in that field and was formerly a global ambassador for Go-Ahead London. She has successfully led depot mobilisations and route relocations in the UK and abroad.
Speaking about her decision to move to Stagecoach, Ms Russell says: “Taking on this role in Peterborough offers a wonderful opportunity to work locally and contribute to the community that I call home.
“It is a chance to bring my expertise into a familiar environment and make a positive difference to our local transport services.”
Ms Russell adds that she is passionate about increasing gender diversity in the coach and bus industry. “As a mother who raised my children while working in the sector, I would wholeheartedly recommend the profession to other women.”
Succeeding Mr Marsh as Operations Manager for Bedford depot is Hayden Mustafa (pictured, top). He moves from Peterborough, where he held the same position.
Establishing a reliable and growing network, sponsoring outreach with the local community, and working to improve colleagues’ health and wellbeing are described by Mr Mustafa as being among his work priorities.
“I am excited about the prospects for the depot and look forward to playing a key role in providing the outstanding local infrastructure network that our customers require,” he adds.
Mr Mustafa and Mr Marsh are both shortlisted in the routeone Awards. The winners will be announced on 13 November.
