Peter Saunders, driver for Arriva Luton, achieved 50 years of service on 9 March.

Peter joined the company in 1970 as a conductor. Despite thinking that it was “too cold a role” he spent five years as a conductor before getting his licence and driving the Green Line coach service between Luton and London.

To commemorate the occasion, one of the Green Line coaches has been fitted with a plaque and unveiled to Peter during celebrations of the milestone.

General Manager, Linsey Frostick, says: “He is a true legend, a genuine character and a real gentleman.”
