Over 80 long-serving team members from across Transdev’s seven depots came together to receive Celebration of Service awards at a dinner in the Emerald Suite at Headingley Stadium in Leeds.
Each Celebration of Service Award winner has reached a key milestone in their career with the operator by achieving 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years’ service.
Among those was The Burnley Bus Company’s longest serving colleague Bob McDowell, who this year celebrates 50 years of service with the company.
Bob says: “It feels like a great achievement to work for the same company for 50 years and I’ve seen a lot of changes in this industry.”
Transdev CEO Alex Hornby says: “Nothing beats celebrating the achievements of our people who work so hard to deliver the amazing service we provide across the North. The dedication of our longest serving people to going the extra mile and more is certainly something worth celebrating. Bob has worked behind the scenes with our engineering team since joining as an apprentice 50 years ago and sets an amazing example within our team and the industry more widely.”
