Volvo Bus UK and Ireland has named Dan Barwick (pictured, right) and Richard Mann (pictured, left) as its Regional Sales Directors. Mr Barwick is responsible for the north of the dealership’s territory and Mr Mann is responsible for the south.
They will each be in charge of “the continued delivery of key contracts through their effective leadership and communication with clients, as well as the dealer network and other internal and external stakeholders,” the vehicle supplier says.
Mr Barwick has 20 years’ experience in the coach and bus industry and has worked at all levels with a varied customer base. Much of his previous time with Volvo was spent on larger fleet sales and he secured the first UK order for the OEM’s battery-electric BZL bus, a 55-unit deal with Stagecoach.
Mr Mann joined Volvo in 2010. Prior to his latest appointment, he progressed from a Regional Sales Manager role focused on independent operators to a position centred on national account management. Along with other members of the Volvo sales team, Mr Mann played a leading role in securing a 48-strong order for the BZL from London operator Metroline in 2022.
Both Mr Barwick and Mr Mann will report to Volvo Bus UK and Ireland Managing Director Domenico Bondi.
Separately, the dealership has confirmed the departure of former Sales Director Phil Owen. He left the business in late 2022 after almost 28 years in sales with Volvo, and is now with South Wales coach and bus operator Adventure Travel in a depot management role.
