The Federation of Passenger Transport Northern Ireland (FPT NI) hosted Northern Ireland’s only passenger transport industry event on 8 February.

routeone sponsored the Rising Star award.

Lisa Spence won for her “exceptional organisational skills.” She started at Airporter in the customer service team, moving to Fleet Administrator before becoming part of the Strategic Planning Team.

When announcing the award, Karen Magill, Chief Executive of FPT NI, describes her as an “essential lynchpin between the yard, the fleet, the drivers and the management ensuring the operation runs smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standards.”

The second Rising Star was Gerard Slane of Travel Ireland Coaches. He began as an office administrator and developed the role himself. He gained his CPC prior to becoming Transport Manger.

Ms Magill says: “He has continued to flourish and his infectious enthusiasm to drive the company forward now sees him playing a significant role in the overall running of the business.”
