Go North East is helping youngsters from Norham High School in North Shields on a special project this autumn exploring Tyne and Wear’s transport history.

Co-ordinated through the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, the ‘Journey Through Tyne’ project will see students work with Newcastle University’s Open Lab to create an interactive journey app.

Working with Age UK North Tyneside, they will engage with older residents who will share their memories of public transport and then Go North East buses will take them all on a tour from the Percy Main depot to Gateshead Riverside. The trip will end with a careers’ meeting for the youngsters at Go North East.
