Henk Coppens has been named Managing Director of VDL Bus and Coach.
He replaces Remi Henkemans, who has moved to a different part of VDL Group’s portfolio, and he will be working closely with VDL Bus and Coach Commercial Director Marcel Jacobs.
Henk joined VDL Bus and Coach in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer after enjoying a 29-year career with Philips, which is also based in VDL’s home city of Eindhoven.
“The only function that I have is to get the right products to our customers,” he says. “The core values of the family-owned VDL Group of 50 years ago are still present. They have been modified in that time, but they are still there.”
Since joining VDL, Henk has fostered a greater level of co-operation between all of the companies within its Bus and Coach division with a focus on chain management, innovation, marketing, quality, and sales.
He will continue to oversee these improvement programmes as Managing Director.
