The charity Home Start Oxford has been named as the winner of Oxford Bus Company’s (OBC’s) ‘brand the bus’ competition.
A double-decker wrapped in the charity’s branding will be used across various city services to spread its message.
The charity supports families with young children through challenging times via one-to-one help in the home, over the phone and through parent groups. It was chosen by a panel of judges from a top ten group of causes, shortlisted by public vote from 32 entries.
Says Phil Southall, Oxford Bus Company Managing Director: “The bus looks fantastic and we’re proud to support a vital good cause in our community. In the current climate, Home Start Oxford’s services will undoubtedly be even more important and we hope the bus will help raise awareness of its vital work.”
Chief Executive of Home Start Oxford Katherine Barber adds: “The coronavirus COVID-19 crisis has been tough for families, but it has also been tough for companies, so we are especially grateful to OBC for maintaining its support through ‘brand the bus’.
“This beautiful bus will help us raise much needed funds and provide a lifeline to more children and families.”
This year’s ‘brand the bus’ contest will launch soon. Previous charities to win its support have been Oxford Pride, Oxfordshire Prostate Cancer Support Group, and GirlGuiding Oxfordshire.
