Seven local sports teams in Carlisle have won the Tomorrow’s Local Legends bursary, which was set up by Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire (CNL).
The fund was awarded to; Carlisle Reivers FC, Northbank FC (girls’ and boys’ teams), Carlisle Comets, Carlisle Cricket Club, Carlisle Warriors Basketball Club and Caldew Lea Primary School.
Mark Whitelocks, Managing Director of Stagecoach CNL, says: “We know how difficult it can be for local teams to secure funding and how vital it is that money is there so kids can play the sports they love with the right equipment.
“We have recognised this and set up the first Tomorrow’s Local Legends bursary to directly support teams from across Carlisle.”
