He joined Stagecoach in 2011 as a graduate trainee in the region and progressed to progressed to become Operations Manager for Hampshire in 2013 and for Stagecoach South West in 2017. His role at Stagecoach West and Oxford Tube began in September 2019.
Martin says: “Our transport services play a critical role in connecting South Wales and I look forward to working with my team, our partners and stakeholders to unlock the environmental, social and economic benefits that bus services deliver.
“I’m also looking forward to meeting our drivers and customers, as well as key stakeholders, and working collaboratively with them to rebuild from the challenges that the industry and region have faced in recent years.”
Paul Lynch, Regional Director in London and Wales for Stagecoach, adds: “We’re pleased that our customers, stakeholders and colleagues in South Wales will be able to benefit from Martin’s extensive experience of running bus and coach services across the country. This is a fantastic and well-deserved move for Martin and it’s always good to see one of our own leaders develop and progress in the business.
“I would also like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank Nigel Winter for his continued efforts over the past eight years leading the South Wales team and 17 years in Stagecoach. We wish him all the very best for the future.”
