Scania (Great Britain) has appointed Paul Smith, 42, as Marketing Director with immediate effect.

Based at the company's headquarters and customer support centre in Milton Keynes, Paul takes overall responsibility for the centralised marketing of Scania's products and services and providing marketing support to the company's nationwide dealer network.

Paul says: "The sustainability challenges faced by our industry today are redefining the ways in which manufacturers operate and present themselves to market, and I am looking forward to help further develop and promote the Scania brand at such an exciting time."

Martin Hay, MD of Scania (Great Britain), adds: "Having worked closely with Paul for a number of years, I am confident he will be a perfect fit within our organisation. The breadth of his experience brings fresh thinking and ideas into the company.”

Paul joins Scania from creative advertising agency RLA, where he held the position of Commercial Director. RLA has worked with Scania for the past nine years, during which time Paul has been involved in Scania contracts in the UK, South Africa and China.
