Dewi Davies, formerly of Davies Bros (Pencader), died on Saturday (18 January) aged 81 after a period of illness.

Prior to the South Wales firm’s closure in 1999 Mr Davies ran it and a sister business in Carmarthen with his wife and daughters. His father founded Davies Bros and it remained in the family’s ownership throughout its existence. At their peak the two businesses operated around 100 vehicles.

Funeral details are to be confirmed.
