Glasgow-based Blythswood Motors owner George Steele, 95, died peacefully on 25 November after a short illness.
He leaves his wife, Anita and family.
The firm, incorporated in 1940, stopped running its coach and bus dealership after 65 years of trading in December 2015, but its sister company Clifford Finance Ltd, also owned by George continues to trade.
Prior to entering the motor trade, George spent seven years in the RAF, where he piloted Mosquitos, a two-man combat aircraft. He continued flying into his 80s.
He also only drove American cars and was the first person in Scotland to own a Honda Goldwing motorbike.
The funeral is on Monday 4 December at 1300hrs at Linns Crematorium, Glasgow G45 9SP. Mourners are asked to wear a small item of something red.
Afterwards a celebration of George’s life will be held at the Parklands Hotel, Newton Mearns, G77 6DT.
