Edwards Coaches has appointed Simon Ingham (pictured) as Commercial Manager. He joins the Llantwit Fardre operator from National Express and sits on Edwards’ senior leadership team.

With National Express, Mr Ingham most recently worked in the business’s contracts team, procuring operators for core and non-core networks and expanding the Dublin Express portfolio.

He previously spent four years as a member of the service delivery function, managing the performance of partner operators across the UK. Prior to that, he was on the front line as part of the coach stations team before joining the National Express graduate scheme.

Mr Ingham has commended the opportunities and experiences provided to him by National Express and adds that he looks forward to what lies ahead with his new position at Edwards Coaches. “It is a brilliant time to join Wales’s largest independent operator with the centenary approaching in 2025,” he continues.

Speaking about the arrival of Mr Ingham, Edwards Coaches Chairman Mike Edwards says: “We welcome Simon to the business having known him for a number of years. He has a vast knowledge of and experience in the industry. He is passionate about all things transport and will support us greatly in taking our business from strength to strength.”

Mr Ingham joins Edwards Coaches as its National Express operation begins to remove 2017-registered Caetano Levante II-bodied Volvos from service, displaced by Levante III replacements that are arriving as part of a large order for new coaches.

Some of the outgoing vehicles are being repainted into Edwards’ metallic blue livery for use primarily on home-to-school work and private hire, but others are being offered for sale as per an advert placed on the routeone Trader pages.

The operator is also selling MCV-bodied Volvo B7RLE buses. Operators interested in any of the vehicles should contact Head of Operations Richard Thomas via email.
