Stagecoach has marked exceptional employees and contributions at its annual Excellence Awards, held for a second year in 2025 at the London Transport Museum on 13 February.
Those accolades celebrate achievement among Stagecoach staff in eight categories, with five based on demonstrating and reflecting the company’s values in the best way possible, it says.
Nominations came from across the group’s operations in England, Scotland and Wales, and were made by Stagecoach staff. Individual contributions and team efforts were recognised. The winners were:
We are down to earth: Janet Warriner, Commercial Assistant, East Midlands
We are stronger together: Bob Cawkwell, Driver, Yorkshire
We plan for the future: Pete Gallagher, Finance Business Partner, Central Operations Support Team
We do the right thing: Ian De Chastelain and Simon Woollard, East
We support communities: Lorraine Gavin, Driver, Merseyside and South Lancashire
Lifetime Achievement: Carole Reid, Commercial Officer, West Scotland
Inspirational Leadership: Martin Gibbon, Managing Director, South Wales
Employee of the Year: Scott Hall, Head of Commercial, East Scotland.
Speaking about the ceremony, Stagecoach CEO Claire Miles (pictured, third from left) says: “Our Excellence Awards provide a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work, determination and incredible passion of both individuals and teams across our business.
“With over 600 nominations this year, it was a very difficult task to whittle it down to a winner, with strong nominations in all categories.
“What is clear, though, is that our colleagues continue to do exceptional work in delivering excellent customer service and making a positive impact across the country.
“It is only right that we recognise, honour and celebrate standout achievements in our business at what is now a truly special event.”
