Stagecoach UK Bus has appointed Joel Mitchell as South East MD. He is currently Delivery Director for London and Essex rail operator c2c and takes up his post in the spring.
It follows the departure earlier in the year of MD Philip Norwell.
The company has been managed in the interim by Regional UK Bus Director Mike Watson. It runs 450 vehicles with 1,300 people.
Mr Mitchell began his transport career with Stagecoach’s South West Trains in 1999, before joining Southern Railway in 2010 as Head of Performance.
He then returned to South West Trains as Head of Performance before joining First Hull Trains in 2015 as Director of Operations and Customer Experience. In March 2017 he was appointed c2c Delivery Director.
