Passenger says its new age verification function provides “a transformational customer experience, allowing the purchase of restricted tickets entirely through an app.”
The machine learning-based system replaces checks done by drivers or travel centre staff. It allows users to upload ID and request verification from any location.
In-app verifications are the latest addition to Passenger’s app and website platform, which has been designed specifically for bus operators. Nottingham City Transport is the first UK user of the new service and it says take-up has been strong.
