Choose the best for an accessible specification

When specifying vehicles that will carry less mobile users, it is imperative that their needs are considered. Fortunately, a number of suppliers can help you with advice, products and training

Just as is the case in most other parts of the minicoach and minibus industry, operators that are involved in the transport of passengers who are less than able-bodied are blessed with a wide choice of suppliers of equipment that helps to make boarding them easier, and securing them simple – and safe.

Safety is paramount, for a number of obvious reasons. Not only could a trip or a fall leave you as an operator liable, but there is also the potential for your driver, other passengers or members of the public to be hurt at the same time.

That’s why choosing the correct products is so important.

Not only must they make the act of getting passengers on or off the vehicle safe and straightforward, but they must also secure wheelchairs and their users comprehensively while allowing those passengers to retain their dignity and travel in comfort.

In most cases, once you have purchased the product, you will be committed to it for a number of years. For that reason, evaluating all of the options available is a good idea; while many suppliers are pursuing your business, their solutions to the same issue can often vary considerably.

To ensure that items are used correctly, buyers are often able to take advantage of a training package that goes with the purchase, held at either your premises or the supplier’s.

Choose well and these products will give you – and your passengers – years of reliable service.
