Continental has launched the VanContact Eco tyre, which it says offers impressively high mileage and delivers precise handling and short braking distances on both dry and wet roads.
The tyre has achieved top marks under the EU Tyre Label for both energy consumption and short braking distance in wet weather.
It will initially be offered in 10 popular sizes from 15- to 17-inch rims, in widths from 195 to 255mm and with aspect ratios from 50 to 75%.
In the new tyre, developers have refined the tread pattern and improved the composition of the compound used in the successful ContiVanContact 200.
An innovative polymer compound takes the trade-off between wet weather properties and rolling resistance to a new level.
It offers excellent deformation behaviour, with the result that less energy is absorbed as the tyre rolls.
Newly developed additives in the tread compound help to reduce the rolling resistance.
Compared to the predecessor tyre, the completely redeveloped tread pattern is characterised by wide, sturdy ribs in the centre and on the shoulders.
