Ipswich Buses selects Optibus software

Ipswich Buses has selected Optibus cloud native software for its planning, scheduling and rostering needs. The agreement includes use of Optibus’s recently launched Operations module, placing the municipal operator among the first adopters of it in the UK.

Optibus software will capture the Ipswich Buses operation in its entirety, including its involvement with rail replacement and coach work.

The operator says a key factor in its decision to select Optibus was the software’s ease of use and flexibility in allowing changes, and the removal of manual processes and servers. All of Optibus’ software is within the cloud, mitigating any need for associated hardware at the operator’s premises.

Says Ipswich Buses General Manager Steve Bryce: “Optibus is the ideal solution for our operation moving forward. The software’s proven ability to improve business efficiency is unparalleled. We look forward to bringing a new chapter of service quality to Ipswich, and a new level of efficiency to our operation. We are excited to be one of the first users in the UK of the Operations module.”

Optibus says its software can handle any amount of data, including import and export, with no impact on the platform’s speed. The product is “constantly advancing and updating with new features, added with no downtime required and at no additional expense to our clients,” the supplier says.

Adds Regional Director for UK and Ireland Adam Quieros: “We are delighted to welcome Ipswich Buses to the Optibus family. Optibus is heavily invested in the UK market, and ALBUM in particular, and we feel that this partnership will further demonstrate our continued commitment to and growth in the market.”
