Cloud-based software and regular updates optimises results. It hopes to work in more cities
Public transportation and bus scheduling software creators Optibus showcased its cloud-based system at the show.
Keith Neilson, Head of Pre-sales Engineering, says: “One of the differences in our technology over others is that we release updates, there are always new features being trickled into the platform on a bi-weekly basis, some can be small, some can be incremental – its constantly evolving.
“We have been able to demonstrate the technology to customers so they can understand what it is and what they’re going to get from the tool.”
The software takes complex tasks around scheduling, such as duties, rosters and the whole planning phase of a bus operation and automates it and optimises results.
Mr Neilson says: “We can help the scheduler get through their daily workload of planning and rostering much faster and more consistently.
“It enables operators to make smarter decisions and saves them money.”
Optibus is looking to the future, working in cities around the world and with different transport authorities.
Mr Neilson says: “We want to start looking at pulling in other forms of data such as population density, first mile -last mile and mobile phone data – really transform mass transport globally.”
