Papercast has successfully trialled solar powered e-paper displays at two bus stops in central London.
It is part of a longer-term strategy from Transport for London to use innovative technology that delivers real-time information.
The trial has helped to identify a viable digital display technology that can operate continuously without mains power. That can overcome the challenge of keeping passengers at stops informed.
Papercast’s e-paper bus stop displays give “unbeatably low power consumption.” With wireless connectivity as standard, they can easily be installed completely ‘off the grid’.
