Papercast battery displays offer over three year battery life

Papercast had introduced a long-life battery solution to its range of indoor and outdoor e-paper signage displays that the supplier says delivers durability in excess of three years.

That development coincides with the introduction of a new e-paper driver board by Papercast. The latter brings power efficiencies to make those products 3.3 times more power efficient than comparable e-paper solutions, it continues.

In addition, the displays are a claimed 140 times more efficient that comparable LCD units, and 250 times more efficient that traditional bus shelter four-line LED displays.

The long-life battery solutions are available in a range that includes display sizes from 13in to 42in. Papercast adds that the battery is “seamlessly integrated” into the backplate of each display, and that mounting of the e-paper unit can be accomplished by one person in less than 10 minutes.

It highlights that battery power means no consideration of positioning solar panels needs to be made and that the e-paper units can operate in temperatures from -15 to +85 degrees centigrade.

Speaking about the battery development, Papercast CEO Robert Bicket says: “We are thrilled to introduce our integrated long-life battery solution, setting a new standard for longevity and sustainability in e-paper signage.

“This advancement not only offers simplified installation but also reduces maintenance costs and brings unprecedented flexibility to our customers worldwide.” Papercast has clients in over 45 countries.
