Maintaining cooling system performance has never been more important, and with Euro 6 engines, radiators have to work harder than ever. As a result, they must be kept clean.

Liqui Moly has a product that can help. It removes internal deposits and dirt from the cooling circuit, and thus from the water pump, prolonging the latter’s life.

“It is important to clean the cooling system every time the radiator is worked on,” says David Kaiser of Liqui Moly.

“Radiator cleaner is easily added to the coolant and the engine is left running. The active ingredients dissolve internal deposits. After 10-30 minutes they are drained together with the old coolant and the system is rinsed with water.

“It is now clean, and can be used to its maximum performance. Also, the life of the water pump is increase and problems with the cooling system are prevented.

“For the same reason, the cooling system should be cleaned with the radiator is replaced,” he adds, pointing out that over time, corrosion in the radiator can transfer to other parts of the cooling system.
