Asset Alliance Group has provided a seven-year operating lease on a Yutong U11DD battery-electric double-deck bus for AirSym to minimise the operator’s capital outlay on the vehicle.
The vehicle will be serviced and maintained in-house by the operator, supported by an eight-year warranty. It is adorned with Harry Potter vinyls as part of AirSym’s delivery of transport for customers travelling between Victoria Coach Station in London and the Warner Bros Studio Tour in Leavesden, Hertfordshire under a contract awarded by Evan Evans Tours.
Based near Colnbrook near Heathrow, AirSym previously purchased the zero-emission TCe12 coach from Yutong before choosing the U11DD. It now has eight battery-electric vehicles out of a fleet of 40.
Managing Director Allen Jey says that the business’s status as a young company with a young team informed its thinking around those purchases. “We sensed the way the market was moving, the desire customers had for zero-emission, and it has paid off with our latest win supporting the Harry Potter tour at the studio,” he explains.
The U11DD works seven days per week and has 74 seats. It comes with 385kWh of battery capacity and a range of 300 miles.
Mr Jey continues: “Asset Alliance was transparent to work with, and I when I challenged it to ‘beat the offer’ I already had on the table, it did.
“We are looking to bring more electric vehicles into the fleet, and we will certainly look to use Asset Alliance Group again as it is one of the few funders out there with an appetite to support this green technology.”
Asset Alliance Group Commercial Director, Bus and Coach, Martyn Bellis adds: “It has been a pleasure to be able to work with and support such a forward-thinking company. Helping businesses in and around the capital to decarbonise their fleets is something we are proud to be playing a key role in.”
