Stertil-Koni has launched the WD-5P hydraulic high-lift wheel dolly for commercial vehicles. It is designed for what the supplier says is simplified, safe and efficient wheel maintenance on coaches, buses and other vehicle types.

The product streamlines the process of wheel removal and installation. It has a fully-hydraulic system that can handle wheel sizes from 800-1,200mm and is suitable for both single and dual wheels.

A load capacity of 500kg comes with the dolly, which minimises the manual effort required to lift and position wheels. That reduces the physical strain on technicians, leading to fewer injuries and less fatigue.

Hydraulic tilting forks and separate rollers for first and second wheels help in precise alignment, reducing the risk of damage to both wheels and vehicles. The dolly has a robust open frame, allowing users to access wheel nuts and bolts easily. Stertil-Koni says that such an open arrangement is a major advantage over other dollies with closed frames.

Oxford Bus Company is an early user of the WD-5P wheel dolly. A spokesperson for the Go-Ahead Group subsidiary notes that the operator’s engineers have found the product to be highly effective. “The ability to remove both wheels simultaneously has proven to be incredibly efficient, significantly speeding up the maintenance process,” they add.

Safety comes via retaining brackets, wheel brakes, and foot protection. Easy positioning and movement around a workshop is assured with integral swivel castors and smooth-rolling wheels.

Stertil-Koni UK General Manager Tony Edge comments: “We are proud to introduce this state-of-the-art wheel dolly. It represents our commitment to innovation and excellence in automotive maintenance.

“Furthermore, it perfectly complements our range of market-leading mobile column lifts, platform skylifts, four-post lifts and two-post lifts, providing a game-changing experience for commercial vehicle workshops.”
