Mobile Onboard has updated its mTicketr hardware line-up with the launch of a new handheld ticket validator, the reliable, rugged and low-cost HT9000.
It has a large and responsive touchscreen that shares a new interface with its big brother, the mTicketr ETM. The handheld validator enables operators to quickly validate mobile tickets with QR codes as passengers board, or during spot checks.
Mobile Onboard says that the mTicketr HT9000 is ideal where revenue protection is a priority, such as school buses, and the handheld unit also has a passenger count function that automatically updates when a valid ticket is scanned.
The unit uses its fast 2D barcode scanner to work with both mobile tickets and printed media for instant validation.
It is constantly connected via on-bus Wi-Fi or mobile data, giving access to the latest ticketing data while also providing real-time reporting to back office systems.
It integrates seamlessly with Mobile Onboard’s smart ticketing platform, My Mobile Tickets, enabling scan data and passenger counts to be accessed in near-real time by the My Mobile Tickets back office reporting and management system, KIOSK.
