Cambridgeshire operator Whippet has strengthened its collaboration with Velociti Solutions via adoption of the supplier’s depot allocation software and Engage driver app.
The former gives users real-time comprehensive oversight of their operations and enables “complete management of drivers and vehicles,” Velociti says. It ensures that services are delivered safely, legally and cost-effectively while maintaining “meticulous accuracy” in payroll management.
Through use of the Engage app, drivers can manage their work in real-time without relying on a control room. The app’s flexible alerting capabilities further enhance communication and responsiveness, enabling operators to address challenges swiftly and effectively, Velociti continues.
Whippet Interim General Manager Ed Cameron says that Engage has reduced the time spent by the operator on resolving enquiries around drivers’ hours, holidays and shifts. “That alleviates pressure on both our drivers and controllers while amplifying operational efficiency,” he adds.
Mr Cameron describes the depot allocation system as having delivered integration benefits. “We were toggling between our payroll system and spreadsheets for performance monitoring and reporting,” he continues.
“With the depot allocation system, everything seamlessly happens within one solution, significantly streamlining our operations.” The supplier’s products are also used by Whippet for scheduling.
Velociti Solutions Chief Customer Officer Nick Brookes has welcomed a furthering of the partnership with Whippet. “Implementation of the solutions has revolutionised Whippet’s operations, enhancing service quality, safety, sustainability and efficiency,” he says.
“These solutions also enable a swifter and more effective response to unexpected challenges.”
