Ticketer used the theme of ‘the future’ on its stand branding the tagline: A galaxy of public transport possibilities.
While at the show, the ticketing experts launched two new products, Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) software and its tap-on/tap-off technology.
John Clarfelt, CEO and Co-founder demonstrated the latter for routeone. He says that the new machine which allows passengers to clock out makes boarding time much more quicker as passengers no longer need to request a ticket.
It works by facilitating variable- and distance-based charging so passengers always automatically pay the best fare. It also gives operators access to a wealth of data on passenger journeys for more accurate scheduling and fare charging
The DRT software, which is available on all of Ticketer’s ETMs, can be delivered over the air and as its licence-based, operators will only pay for what they use.
The system has been created due to the company seeing a demand for DRT services and features a built-in satnav and passenger manifest. “We like to be innovative and we have seen a growing trend. This is the way to go if opertatros are wanting to maximise efficiency,” Jason Mann, Head of Product at Ticketer says.
Visitors to the stand were treated to a very immersive space theme. It featured droid racing with popular Star Wars characters R2-D2 and BB-8, as well as providing refreshments and the opportunity to have your picture taken with Ticketer’s very own astronaut.
