Despite severe flooding of its yard on Saturday night (2 June), Marshalls of Sutton on Trent started operating a full service less than a day later.

Speaking to routeone, Workshop Foreman Jacob Marshall says: “We got the call on Saturday night about water coming into the yard.
“Some vehicles were well under water by the time it reached the highest point, travelling up the staircase of the double-deckers. And some need to be taken in due to electrical faults.
Described as ‘devastating’ to see, Mr Marshall says the business wouldn’t be where it is now without the help of the community and the industry – with Loughborough-based Paul S. Winson Coaches lending a double-decker.
“We can’t get over the spirit of the industry. It really goes to show that when it comes to the crunch we come together,” he says.
