BYD has launched a 27m, bi-articulated battery-electric bus that can carry 250 passengers.

It describes the K12A as “the longest pure-electric bus in the world” and says that it can travel at a maximum speed of 70km/h and cover almost 300km on a single charge.

The K12A is also the first electric bus to have a distributed four-wheel drive system, which switches between two- and four-wheel drive to suit the demands of different terrain and lower overall energy consumption.
