25 of the 9.6m midis on the way; high-quality product is promised by importer the Harris Group
Higer’s long-anticipated arrival in the UK as a complete coach manufacturer began at CBUK, with importer the Harris Group selling eight of an initial batch of Euro 6, 9.6m Super 9 midis currently on their way to Europe.
“We have 25 Super 9s in transit and they are a mix of 37- and 41-seaters,” says Harris Group Marketing and New Product Director Chris Haughton. Harris will supply both the UK and Irish markets direct from its Dublin headquarters.
The lower-capacity Super 9s have a continental door, and those with 41 seats an emergency exit. Pricing is identical. Five of the coaches on their way to Dublin have floor-mounted toilets fitted at the expense of four seats, which is a cost option.
Since the Super 9 debuted in Ireland at Euro 5 last year, Higer has increased its luggage capacity to 7m3. It is powered by a Cummins ISB6.7 engine that is now coupled to a ZF EcoLife gearbox.
“Super 9s come with two years’ unlimited mileage warranty including comprehensive European support facilitated by Nationwide Coach Assistance,” adds Mr Haughton.
Meanwhile, the Harris Group is concluding the specifications of a 12m Higer coach called the Road King. The first is expected to arrive in Dublin in May 2018 and it will be powered by either a Cummins ISL or an Iveco Tector engine coupled to a ZF AS-Tronic automated gearbox.
