London Hire says the LDV EV80 minibus, the first of which was converted by GM Coachwork and displayed at the CV Show, will deliver an estimated lifespan of 10 years and a major saving in energy costs.

It has ordered 12 EV80s in a mix of M1 and M2 formats and seating up to 13.

“This is a lightweight, durable product. We have agreed to work together on it exclusively for two years,” says London Hire Head of Sales Peter Moxom.

He adds that typical yearly electricity costs will be £1,800 based on 10,000 miles per annum.
