A trade union ballot has accepted the recommendations of the Labour Court in relation to April’s 21-day strike at state-run Bus Éireann.
It proposed voluntary redundancies for 120 drivers, 48 clerical workers and 22 management. There are pay cuts for anyone on over €60,000 along with cuts in overtime.
Bus Éireann says: “This endorsement significantly enhances the prospects for the company, customers and staff. It provides a basis to develop a viable business plan, help us address the critical financial position and achieve significant and necessary improvements in efficiencies.”
“We look forward to engaging with our staff to implement the recommendation.
“Bus Éireann would like to recognise the significant contribution and input from the trade unions during this process and also to thank the Workplace Relations Commission and Labour Court for facilitating this agreement.”
