Orion Travel of Manchester has taken delivery of an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-deck bus, supplied by the manufacturer.
It is the first new double-deck to be bought by the operator, which is engaged in school and college services, private hire and corporate hospitality across Greater Manchester. The vehicle also represents a first purchase direct from Alexander Dennis by Orion.
At 11.5m in length, the Enviro400 has 85 seats. Three-point belts fitted to all fixed positions, which are high-backed.
Speaking about the arrival, Director Leigh Mitchell says: “Our first brand-new double-decker is a significant step in our continued investment in the modern Orion Travel fleet.
“The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a great asset for us. The high capacity means we can put it to work on school and college contracts, while the specification with a digital tachograph allows flexible use on private hires and other business opportunities.”
Alexander Dennis Regional Sales Manager Simon Wood has thanked the operator for its custom.
“We are honoured that Orion Travel has chosen Alexander Dennis for its first ever brand-new double-decker. The Enviro400 offers a perfect combination of capacity and economy, which will allow Orion Travel to maximise the return on this investment by employing it on a wide range of work.”
