Bill Laidlaw has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Harris Group UK by Higer and Maxus importer Harris Group in a move that the Dublin business says will help it to deliver revenues of €1 billion by 2030.

In that position Mr Laidlaw will lead all Harris Group UK operations, including Harris Truck and Bus UK, Maxus UK, and future additions that will include growth into the heavy truck market.

He brings extensive leadership experience from the automotive sector and has been key to the development of Harris Group’s operations for several years, it says. Most recently Mr Laidlaw has led the introduction of Higer coach and bus products into the UK, with further models promised beyond the V-Series coach line and Azure battery-electric buses.

Harris Group adds that he “combines strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of customer requirements, market dynamics, and operational excellence.” Elevation of Mr Laidlaw is part of an ongoing Harris Group senior management restructure, with further appointments to be announced soon.

Speaking about that process, Harris Group CEO Brian Patterson says: “We have set ourselves an ambitious target of achieving annual revenues of €1 billion by 2030 and have developed a clear roadmap to deliver it. Bill’s appointment is an integral part of that journey.

“Bill brings incomparable experience, strong leadership, and a genuine passion for our business, our people, and our customers. He has a deep understanding of the opportunities that lie ahead for Harris Group and a proven ability to deliver results.

“As we continue to expand our operations, strengthen our market position and explore new brand opportunities, Bill will play a pivotal role in helping us to achieve our objectives.

“He has already made a significant contribution to the growth of our UK business, and I am confident that, in his new role as Chief Operating Officer, he will help to drive the group forward as we work towards our €1 billion target in 2030.”
