Roy Cook, of Brownrigg’s Coaches of Egremont, passed away on 7 June at the age of 84.

Mr Cook and his late wife Irene took over the family business from her parents Jackie and Vera Brownrigg in 1976. He grew Brownrigg’s into a large operation based at a two-acre site and retired only three years ago.

Mr Cook’s daughters Diane and Liza, and his son-in-law Brian, are all now involved with the firm, which gives him great credit for guiding it to where it is today.

The funeral will be held on Friday 21 June at 1015hrs at St Mary and St Michael Church, CA22 2AY.
