Go-Ahead Ireland returns to Stertil Koni

Go-Ahead Ireland (GAI) has added a 25-tonne capacity Stertil Koni drive-on Skylift to the maintenance capacity at its Dublin depot.

The SKY250-10 model gives great flexibility. It complements 12 sets of Stertil Koni 7.5-tonne wireless mobile column lifts at GAI’s Dublin and Naas premises.

The Skylift occupies minimal floor space, allowing maximum workshop utilisation.

The 10m-long Skylift platforms have a drive-on height of just 350mm and a lifting space of 1.75m. With no base frame, no cross beams and a lifting leg only at each end of the platform, it provides unobstructed access to raised vehicles from all sides.

Safety is accounted for by an independent mechanical locking system that is always active. Each leg also has an individual measuring device, ensuring smooth and level synchronisation to within 15mm.

The Skylift was specified with 3.5m-long approach ramps purposely to accommodate buses. Combined, all its features allow GAI to conform with a group-wide policy that promotes the use of lifts rather than pits for maintenance work.

Go-Ahead Ireland uses the Stertil Koni Skylift for safety inspections, servicing and unplanned tasks. It typically sees 12 hours’ utilisation per day.
