Don Fraser Coaches of Rufford in Lancashire has taken delivery of the first Plaxton Leopard that has been built to have space for two wheelchair users.

The PSVAR-compliant, 12.8m coach is mounted on a Volvo B8R chassis. It can also carry a maximum of 70 seated passengers. In addition to accessibility, the operator has specified a comprehensive eight-camera CCTV system, wood effect flooring, leather headrest inserts, upgraded mirrors and exterior chrome edging.

The Leopard arrived with Don Fraser Coaches earlier in 2020. That followed the operator debating whether to take delivery during an “incredibly challenging time for independent coach operators,” says Director Kimberley Golding.

“We received the coach at the end of March, right at the beginning of lockdown. We had been in deep thought prior to that as to whether we should have it in our possession or not. The future was extremely uncertain at that time, and it still is. However, we decided to bite the bullet and take delivery.

“Our new Plaxton Leopard has fit into our fleet nicely and we are proud of our achievement. It is a versatile addition. ADL has been great to do business with.”
